Useless Stile no. 1 – Laughton en le Morthen, Rotherham

TN_Useless-stiles3

This is the first in our series of truly useless stiles. We have noticed more and more on our walks around Yorkshire and beyond and we just have one question. Why?!

I think you’ll agree that this is an example of a classic useless stile.

A wide open field, with no gate or any other sort of impedement to walking straight through the gate. What made it even better was the clump of nettles growing at both sides of the stile making it almost impossible not to get stung even if you actually had to climb over it!

You, too, can climb this useless stile (don’t blame us if you get stung) on the Spire walk of Laughton en le Morthen here
